Trip to South Africa; Location: Jeffreys Bay; Swell; ankle biters.
With no swell, Joel and I harassed all the local shapers until someone let us dumb Canadians in. Joel Harris (on the sander) and your truely (behind the lens) were welcomed into Mikey Myers facility. Joel was working on a kneeboard for another local who we had met at Country Feeling. Mikey has been doing this for decades and spending a day with him is like spending ten years trying to figure things out on your own. He offered to let us stay for a few days, but we had to move on. Also big thanks to Thys Strydom of Rebel Surfboards who was also very welcoming and opened up his shop to us.
