15 St. Del Mar SanDiego

Enjoying the fruits of MY labor, my good friend JP enjoying an early morning session at 15 St. Delmar, San Diego, CA.    I gave him this board as a wedding gift in hopes that I could turn him onto surfing.    Looks like it worked. 

Black Swan is ALIVE!!!!

 Ed and Mariola at Murky Water Kayaks have been working really hard to get the Black Swan ready for action.    We took the first boat out of the mold for a quick float test to get a sense of seating and cockpit position, ergonomics (knees and feet), balance (fore-aft), stability,  "rollability" and fin box positioning.     I have to say I am extremely happy with how the design turned out with regards to the above criteria and the boat shows great promise in the speed department too.   More about the specifics of the design to come............. Stay tuned. 

This boat will likely go out to California as a demo in the next couple of weeks, so plead your case with me and Ed as to why it should end up in your hands.    No waves here right now, so we need some real world feedback.

Of course any maiden voyage requires some champagne!

Product Testing

Doing some static line surfing on Hero Wave just above Phil's Hole on the Ottawa.   A great way to try out different fins and boards and ride until your fingers are crying for help.    Need to save some hand strength to hold on when you bail or you are swimming!!!!   Joel and I had a decent set up that resulted in only a couple swims through Phil's.   Lifejacket and helmet mandatory!  Cheers to Joel D for the pic.
